Beautiful Chanted Prayers to Mother Tara – 31 Dec to 1 Jan
Tara is a female Budda, an embodiment of wisdom, renowned also for her compassionate and swift response to requests for protection. This is a good time to make meaningful wishes and intentions for the year ahead. Join us for just one or more of 6 sessions of chanting. Includes a “pot luck” vegetarian party/supper – bring something to share!
The Stages of the Path Retreat - guided sessions from 3 -13 Jan
Come and join us for retreat to develop familiarity with Buddha’s teachings entitled the Lamrim. “The practice of Lamrim is very important because everyone needs to cultivate peaceful states of mind. By listening to or reading these teachings we can learn how to contol our mind and always keep a good motivation in our heart. This will make all our daily actions pure and meaningful. By controlling our mind we can solve all our daily problems.” Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Through this practice we can completely fulfil our potential and take the essential meaning of this human life.
During the week beginning Monday the 14th of January our regular weekly meditation classes begin again at Dorjechang Centre and at our branches. These classes include guided meditations and advice on the Buddhist approach to a positive and peaceful life.
As you may remember from previous newsletters, Dorjechang Centre now has a website - www.meditateinwimbledon.org. If you would like to help promote
our website, and help people to find inner peace in a busy world,
then forward this newsletter to five people who you think might
be interested in or who might benefit from meditation.
